Bad garage lighting makes every project frustrating. After wiring dozens of garages, here’s exactly how many fixtures you need, what lumens and color temperature actually work, and the setup that transformed my own shop.

Why Most Garage Lighting Sucks

Walk into the average garage and you’ll find a single bare bulb or cheap fluorescent shop light hanging from the ceiling. It creates dark shadows, poor visibility, and makes working on anything a chore.

1. Main Overhead Lighting
